Progress bridges the gap between AI pilot and enterprise scale with new Sitefinity Release

Progress Software has released the latest version of Progress® Sitefinity® Generative CMS, designed to help organisations integrate generative AI into websites, portals, and digital experiences. The update focuses on operationalising AI through a governed, enterprise-ready framework that supports conversational interfaces and personalized content delivery.

“We’re seeing a clear shift across APJ toward AI‑driven discovery and conversational engagement,” said John Yang, Vice President, APJ, Progress Software. “As users look for immediate, reliable answers, organisations need content that is structured, trustworthy and AI‑ready from the outset – something that Sitefinity Generative CMS already provides”

“In addition, in practice, governance is often the biggest barrier preventing organisations from taking generative AI beyond pilots,” Yang added. “Without the right technology in place, scaling AI across digital experiences becomes risky. Sitefinity Generative CMS is designed to eliminate that barrier by embedding oversight, compliance and brand consistency into AI‑driven innovation.”

    Key capabilities and features

The release introduces several AI-native tools intended to streamline digital production while maintaining brand consistency and regulatory compliance:

    • Hyper-Personalisation at Scale: Utilising Dynamically Generated Experiences (DGE), the platform combines behavioural data from the Sitefinity Insight Customer Data Platform to tailor interactions in real time. To address transparency, the Observability Intent Grid allows administrators to audit AI-driven decision-making processes.
    • Embedded AI Agents: Provides real-time guidance to ensure content adheres to established tone, style, and brand standards.
    • SEO Agent: Analyses metadata and content to optimise visibility for both traditional search engines and generative search environments (GEO/AEO).
    • Search and discovery readiness: The CMS now includes native support for Schema.org JSON-LD structured data across all content types. This feature is intended to make enterprise content more accessible to AI crawlers and generative search tools without requiring third-party plugins.
    • Agentic RAG integration: The inclusion of Progress® Agentic RAG facilitates AI-driven knowledge discovery and conversational search functions directly within the CMS.

    Strategic objectives

According to Progress Software leadership, the update aims to help enterprises move from AI experimentation to large-scale implementation. The framework is built to address common institutional concerns regarding AI maturity and governability by providing a foundation for discoverable content and hyper-personalised user journeys.

Industry partners have noted that the shift toward dynamically adapting content based on user intent—while maintaining strict governance—aligns with current market trends driven by Large Language Models (LLMs).
